Our Mission Statement:
The mission of the Cullman County Public Library System is to make connections in our community providing patrons with opportunities for
growth, discovery, inspiration, and services to meet a multitude of individual needs.
The Cullman County Public Library System is located in beautiful north central Alabama. We are a 5-branch library system that also offers bookmobile services to all of Cullman County.
In 1946, the Cullman County Board of Revenue (now called the Cullman County Commission) created a Public Library Board to set polices for the operation of public libraries in Cullman County, to hire the County Librarian, review his/her work, and to foster library development. Over fifty years later, the board still strives to "help meet the need to know" in our area.
All Board members are appointed by the Cullman County Commission. The Chairman of the Cullman County Commission (who has responsibility for overseeing all general operations of County government, including Commissioners appoint one each. The Cullman City Council occasionally recommends persons for appointment to Place 5, which is the designated City of Cullman representative. All board members are appointed to four year terms as stipulated by state law.
