Expanded Hours and Services
at the Hanceville Library

The new Hanceville Public Library, which moved to larger quarters in February, will expand its hours beginning May 1, 2007.  The Library will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 P.M. and from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  The Library will also be open on Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.  Like other branch libraries in the county, the Library will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The City of Hanceville recently agreed to provide additional support to the Library Board and to the County Library System to add these hours.  “We are very appreciative of the City’s investment, not only in its new library building, but by insuring that the Library is available when people need it,” said John Paul Myrick, County Librarian. "I don't know of many small towns that provide for the Library to be open as many hours as does Hanceville."

Children’s Storytimes at the Hanceville Library will continue to be held on Tuesdays at 2:30 PM, and the annual Summer Library Program will begin in June at the Library.

Wireless “Wi-Fi” Internet access is available in the downtown area surrounding the Hanceville Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  There are also seven public access computers available for use during the library’s operating hours.  The Library has great adult fiction and children's collections, and regularly rotating video and audiobook collections. By being a part of the County System, the Hanceville Public Library can borrow items from any public library in Cullman County through the library's catalog at www.ccpls.com.  Items from any public library within the county may also be returned to the Hanceville Library.
